B16z5 engine?
posting this for a friend.
He bought a '91 CRX some time ago, and he want's to do some simple performance upgrades (bolt ons). So we checked his engine code just to be sure and it says it's a D16z5, but can't seem to find any info in the engine code.
Anyone here know anything about this engine.
We know it's a dohc non-vtec 1.6l engine.
thnx

i dont think the b was even cast yet at that time. perhaps in prototype.
if it were 88-89 it would have to be a D-series....
i dunno OP i would suggest wiping down the area and rechecking.
another thing i would do, is pull the passenger side carpet back and read the model on the sticker of that ECU.
that will be another huge clue for you as to what you're dealing with.

I think even the earlier the 90 Integras were still B17s. I could be wrong.
Your friend also might be thinking B18C5, which would be the USDM Integra Type R motor
