First off i know this may not be the right place to post this but this is where my problems with gotnos2 began.

After wrecking my itr oct of 07, I placed it up for sale here. that is when kenny(gotnos2) offered to fix my car for me, i did some research on him, he had a good rep on H-T plus his 101% so me and him came up with a contract to get my car fixed.

contract included the following.
replace frontend
replace door
replace drivers side 1/4 panel
fix suspension
paint

this estimate was given with the notion that there is no frame damage nor serious suspension damage. If any serious problems are found during the the course of the repairs, the owner will be notified promptly. All repairs will be done in a timely and professional manner. ( those were just quotes from the contract) both partys singned this contract 11/03/07

At first everything went smooth. then after about a month which was the estimated time for completion. kenny stoped answearing my phone calls. this kept going on for three months... I repeatedly tried to contact him with very little luck... he kept making excusses as to why it was taking him so long to fix my car. and would only get back to me throuth text messages, even those took days to get back to me. This lasted three months with no comunication.

The big day finally comes on 2/09/08 where he told me my car was ready. I arrive to his house, off the bat i notice all the huge gaps in the body panels he had replaced, he proceded to adjust them with no luck. I put on my new wheels and tires and looked at the drivers side rear wheel it was toed out extremly to much, Im very unsatisfied at this point not only did it take him three months but he didnt fix it correctly. I take my car to the nearest alignment shop at sears.

The rear toe was at -2.38 on the drivers side. meaning bent parts. they had to replace a tie rod up front drivers side. All this he should of noticed.. I get the car home, and finally take it for a estimate to complete it to another shop here locally.
Turns out the quarter panel he had put in was installed incorrectly, all body panels such as jdm front end and door have to be readjusted. rear trailing arm must be replaced, front spindle and wheel hub aswell.

I know we didnt agree to do major suspension work. but in our contract he was to notifiy me promptly with any problems, he absolutly did NOT do so, or even give me the slightest hint of any problems with my car. Before i came to pick up my car I asked him sevral times if my car was complete and without problems. He told me it was complete and no problems. He was surprised himself with the rear wheel being so off toe. meaning he didnt do a thorough job.

The reason I am even writing this is because I feel screwed over by gotnos2. Now the body work he had done for me must be redone at my expense This was supposed to take 3-4 weeks it endded up being 3 months with no comunication and the results are very bad. This was the worse experience with my car i ever had. I hope no one has to go through what happened to me. Waiting for your side of the story now kenny...

 

for bad business... 3 months? Anything longer than a month would alone tell me to get my car outa there.

 

damn...This type of **** happens everyday. In the long run of things it's cheaper to pay a reputable body shop to do the work the 1st time ...Rather than paying for the work to be done twice....It would be interesting what Gotnos2 has to say.

Why dont you take pics of your car as it sits if its still EXACTLY the same way when you picked it up.. Ill post pics that i have as well..

I have fixed so many peoples cars over the last 8 years, with many of the people fellow HT members. Not once have I heard one problem from any one of them. Everything i did was at least 50% or if not more less than a shop wanted to fix the vehicles. And YOU are the only person that has a problem. You were a pain in the *** to work with and in your words" Im very **** about things" You have a totaled ITR, I did what i could.. you paid me less than 1K after parts and materials.

I also have other people that saw the car and its process with their own eyes.. From what your pos was to what your pos is now.

Youre such a turd dude.. Stay tuned for my side...

It was less than 3 months.. and contract stated that he could come pick it up anytime.. Also there was more damage than he said when i spent 230$ on gas and a trailer and 3 hours driving one way to come pick it up from him. Front apron was bent, axle broken.. control arms bent and broken.. floor buckled.. yada yada..

I saw the before pics and I am surprised you even wanted to fix it. I got my si hit in the front and no frame damage at all. Just shock tower apron part, fender, light, front bumper. It cost me alomost $6000. That work would have cost $10k from the shop I got my work done.

I am curious what it looks like now.

Dayum... Clicked the link and I would have backed out of it myself man... YOu only charge $1000 for labor? THat was a huge favor in it self... Let's get some pics up, I bet you did most of the hard stuff then body shop looks at it like "oh, okay we'll take it from here." Bump for a resolution.

 

I need to get the contract up.. but basically.. i was going to do bodywork, paint and fix the rotor from what he made it sound like for 3500$ with additions to amount if more damage was found.. I could not find any place cheap enough around here that did a good job for less than 1500, and i started getting the feeling that he would be picky as hell about teh paint job if it had any flaws.. Basically he will have to pay 3500 for what hes expecting..So i told him to keep 1500 of the total amount.. SO i took 2K.. well after buying way more parts that i was agreed to originally and because there was more damage than he had said and before i could tear it apart.. I lost a huge amount of profit on parts and materials..
If he realized anything about bodywork, or auto repair shops.. Any shop you go to, the person there will talk **** about any other shop to make their shop seem better and for them to feel like they are getting a better deal.. Import shops are the same way.. Regardless, repair shops ALWAYS put down others.. Its the nature of the business.. And that why shops have high turn over in employees..
Ill get every single picture i took up.. every piece of writing.. and Ill let you all decide for yourselves.. I have a good rep on here and i earned it.. I have legit and long time HT members that would vouch for me any day.. Ive done numerous amounts of bodywork on the side like i have said with no complaints.. And in any business, theres always that one person who has to make life hell.. I went out of my way to make this guy happy, fxing extra stuff for free, ie dent in passenger 1/4 panel.. drilling out old US core support and driling out jdm core support then welding on JDm core, when he originally talked of just getting a US front again.. Then i paid for a mirror, powerslot rotor, new axle, i replaced his door, side skirt.. Did what i could with his f'd up rocker panel.. Got him another interior blk 1/4 plastic because his was cracked from the wreck etc... I bent over for this guy and fixed so much extra stuff its unbelievable..

 

i saw pictures in the stages of his fixing becaus he was showing me progress, and as far as i understand gotnos bought a control arm and mirror and maybe some other stuff i forgot out of his own pocket, and go screwed on gas money/trailer etc,

plus you bought a jdm front end so he had to do all the extra work of putting that whole front on and the core support and prepping the jdm front body panels from the shitty condition they come in from auto adventure, the jdm front being installed would be what like 800+ just for labor from a body shop.

OP should post pics of the car right now, becaus i saw pics how it looked in most stages of repair and it looked like it was coming along, and the alignment of body panels looked dead on

Im not a person that rips anyone off, or scams anyone.. I just want t show i have bent over backwards for this guy, and did ALOT of extra stuff for free.. that he would have been charged alot for.. Who drills out spot welds on 2 core supports, and welds new one one, bolts on and preps a jdm ITR frontend for nothing?.. Apparently i do.. I think if Rsr001 would look back at what he paid me, and what i had did for him.... and compare with what you guys have all paid for the same things.. Maybe his outlook would be different.. Obviously by looking at his post count, he is newer to the import scene anyways.. How much have you guys paid for somebody to just do your rhd itr frontend?... replace a 1/4 panel.. fix dents the sizes of a fist.. fix small dents and door dings.. It all adds up, and i think i am the one getting shafted by how much i got paid and now getting called out for the first time.. and someone saying i dont know what im doing.. Its BS..

sounds like a guy that wanted a cheap swap in an EF and the next day showed up with a complete 98 conversion and wanted me to throw that on while i swapped his motor LOL

He is just another dude who wanted alot for nothing and perfection at that.. Its funny because you all see it also, yet he cannot and he swears he is in the right. People that dont do the work themselves do not realize what it actually takes to do the work. I gave you all a very condensed version of the story and you can already see through the BS.. Yes i had his car for more than what him and i originaly talked about but look how much more i had to do than was originaly talked about... I also worked a full time job and had my kid every other weekend.. I worked on the car when i could.. He also forgot to mention that it took him 2-3 weeks to decide not to do a US frontend, and buy one from auto adventure and have it delivered to my house.. Funny how info like that gets left out..

I will get the original conversation we had on whats included in the price quote, so you can judge for your selfs whats extra.

Did you take three months to fix the car??

Did you ever mention during the time that there was anything major in the suspension or anywhere else that needed to be fixed??

was there lack of comunication on your part??

the reason i did not pick up my car sooner is because your in portland and im in seattle.. which is a big for me in the first place.

the car is at a shop now and i will get proof of the stuff that has to be redone.
Im not trying to make you out to be a bad guy, I know you have done plenty of work for other people, that is why im so surprised of the whole out come of this.

Just a part of our conversation. I asked him worse case , he told me 4k, he ended up not painting it and I bought the front end for 1,850. so we're right around 2k.
The only extra parts were rotor x1, mirror x1 and plastics. and I did pay him for the extra stuff after pick up.

You say you did a good job but who puts on only one new rotor? then leaves one skunk2 camber kit and replaces the other side with a stock uca?? only after i came to pick up my car did you replace the other uca. plus the window doesnt work on the door you sold me, motors bad on it.

 

You two should have talked this out and settled it before you posted this thread. I have known kenny for many years and i can vouch for him without hesitation that he is a stand up guy and takes responsibility for his faults. For the amount of work you requested from a person doing it on the side you have to be patient. especially if your only paying 2-3k for the amount of work he was going to perform. When kenny worked on my car; instaleld jdm front end, alligned front end from front end collision, welded up holes from door trim, fixed dents etc.. he had my car for about a month and it came out great.

 

Rsr001 you are a waste of time man..
YOU decided to get a JDM frontend, YOU paid auto adventure too much for a non HID frontend when originally you were going to just bolt on a US frontend again..

Ihave known kenny for a few years and I don't think he would rip anyone off on bodywork. I mean he does this for a living. I think there was more damage then you assumed and as more damge was uncovered it made kenny's job worse. if you want perfection in bodywork sometimes you have to realize time and labor. I went cheap and rushed someone to do my bodywork and it came out shitty. There are those american muscle guys that work on their rides for years just on bodywork to get perfection. Just my 2 cents. Bump for a resolution..

Several things I want to know about gotnos are: What exactly do you do at work? body, prep, or paint or other? And how long have you been doing body work? And how often do you work on totaled cars on suspensions and body? I am just curious that's all.

 

People I understand very well that gotnos2 has a great rep here and has done plenty of work on cars, just because a person is known to do good work, doesnt mean that what I claim is false in any way.

How is no comunication good customer service?
Im not bashing just sharing what happened in my perticular situation.

Like I said the reason im sharing all this is just to give people a peice of mind, if he ever attempts to fix other cars again. Hopefully its just a isolated situation....

wow its about time someone called this guy out. i have known this kenny bowman guy for years and hes definately not what everyone says he is. lets get the facts out there.

1.) can someone please show me a car that kenny bowman has fixed correctly? Post a pic and what they paid or whatever. his body work completely sucks, and i have seen cars that hes worked on and absolutely nothing positive or nice about it. More than half the people that are vouching for him are morons that have never seen or had kenny work on their car. Its like HE woke up one morning and was hey i can weld and bondo, lets try it. LOL. . Dont you notice that he wanted some russians to paint his very own car??? Cmon?? OMFG sake. . this guy does body work and paint in his own garage. for one he cant weld for a ****. i wouldnt' doubt that quarter is crooked. (hey kenny do you remember that rhd conversion you did on that integra. .. where you cut the car in half? lol and glued it with house caulking? when it rained yellow residue was dripping from the car when it was on the lift? LOL. . biggest piece of **** ever! better off bringing your car to some highschool kids trying to learn the **** in shop class

** someone needs to post the pics of the bodywork that kenny did on that CRX with the 300Z conversion. . that was allstar work done by KennyBowman Autoworks hahahah If I remember correctly, he had issues with kenny as well for making promises that he couldn't keep and customer (well kenny would call you a non friend) he got pissed off as well becuase he car turned out like crap I mean i know 300Z front end and rear is not the most jdm thing you can do to a crx but you can see his skills at work.

2.) he is an absolute rip off. i dont care if he charges your 500 to fix your car. it was probably a better idea to let you car go thru the auction and let the insurance give you the few hundred bucks for it.

3.) word on the streets is this guy isn't the most honest guy anyways. just becuase hes got some *****'s vouching for him on this site doesn't mean anything. means most likely those guys are con artists themselves.

4.)You just got scammed right in your face. Kenny acts to be the nicest and stand up guy. but when he gets bored of your project. . he asks for more money. . and puts your project off. Not picking up the phone is a normal one too for him. Why would you bring your car to some strangers house? and trust him with it? Run a background check atleast? Kenny is a salesman. Sorry bro. I hope your lesson is learned.

5.) RSR001 i feel for you man. The truth of the matter is, i know how clean your R used to before you wrecked it. (a friend of a friend actually sold that car to you.) Next time dont cut corners. When something sounds too good to be true. . it usually is. Kenny was probably jealous anyways that you got soo much money from insurance and wanted more of it for himself, so in the end when he screwed you. . he can be like "hey look cheap ***" you got what you paid for. WE all know this guy always promises things he cant deliver. Just the majority of honda-tech doesn't know it. Like they dont know about his criminal record of how he steal cars. Knows that he associates with colin stewart and matt girlich. As a matter of a fact hes storing a theives white ek powered hatch with a stolen K20 in it and is trying to pond it off right now. its funny how scandalous this guy is. Hes trying to screw over his own jacker friends.

6.) Last but not least, RSR001 atleast you got your car back. in one piece, and it was jacked or stolen. Im sure he thought it about it couple of times but he probably would have been scared of the russian KYB mafia cutting his *** up. . you should ask him about the last couple of ITR's that NEVER left his garage in one piece. You made out man. Be some what happy. Better luck next time.
