I think D-Series Transmissions would bolt on to most D-Series engines.

make sure you buy a clutch that will work with the transmission!

here is the deal.. all the d-series transmissions are interchangeable. the tricky part comes in the transmissions that were made pre-1990.

1988 d-series trans is a 21 spline input shaft transmission.
1989-2000 transmissions are all 20 spline.

the 1988 flywheel is a 190mm flywheel
the 1989 flywheel is a 200mm flywheel
1990-2000 flywheel is 212mm.

The correct answer to this question requires knowledge of what year your transmission is and what flywheel you are using. We can assume that if you are using the y8 flywheel, that makes it a 212mm flywheel. if you have a 90-91 trans, then the clutch will work. if you have an 88 or 89 trans, then you will need a different clutch to work with your flywheel.
