Default Just bought a 93 coupe, water leaks....

hey guys,

just bought a 93 civic DX coupe for a daily/beater, i tried searching but came up with nothing.

problem is that i'm getting about an inch of water in the back seat floor behind the driver's seat, it could be the taillight gaskets but how would the water get past the rear seat? so i'm thinking it's something else.

the car does have the typical honda rust - so much that the rear bumper is hanging of where it bolts to the quarter. the car also doesn't have a sun roof so it's not the drain, anyone have this problem before?

oh and a pic; plans are to lower it a bit, a set of fat 5's, and once the motor goes a H22 swap and manual conversion.

i'd put money that the water is leaking in from the corner of the windshield. Take off the plastic underneath the wipers and look there. My brother's was leaking from there. When we tore up his car, those areas (both sides) were rusted through.

^i would never have thought of that, did you cut out and re-weld in metal? or did some silicone just seal it up?

floor panals are in tact, no rust or holes....but there is the typical rust on the quarters.

panels

Intact (one word)

We didnt do anything to it, just left it alone. Cheapest would be to seal it up with silicone or some roof tar . Fix her up before your ECU gets wet and leaves you stranded!

spray some soapy water on the outside of the car.. then go inside and blow compressed air, or some type of air on the inside of the car where water usually leaks from... usually bubbles will kinda start forming from the leak, I did this on many cars before
