Default Hard Idle and Check Engine Light Help

I drive a '95 Honda Accord EX Coupe and when I stop at a stop light for more than 2-3 minutes my car will start to idle violently and shake the car, it feels as if I pressed the accelator and the stepped off. I checked the Oil, Transmission, and even the Wiper fluids (just kidding) to see if that was the problem and they were all fine, granted I am about at 3000 miles for an oil change but I don't remember the car doing this last time I needed one.

Also, my check engine light is on almsot all the time, except when it is warm outside. Whenever it is warm out my car will run fine and ususally without any of the aforementioned problems. But in the rare occasion that the check light is off, and the idle problem does happen it leads to the engine light coming on and me screaming loudly at my car.

Sorry for the long posts, i feel like its some obvious problem that is staring me in the face and I totally overlooked it, any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

Alrite, just retrieved the CEL codes (couldn't find a paper clip) and I have a Code 6 and a Code 9, An Engine Coolant Temperature and No.1 cylinder position sensor respectively. I figure that the cylinder sensor is probably what is causing the idle problems, but what sort of repairs do these 2 error codes require? DIY or just take it to a dealership?

Coolant you can *probably* do yourself if you're comfortable trouble shooting that stuff.

Probably start with a coolant flush, check sensors, thermostat, etc

I'd clean the IACV and FITV

The cylinder I'm not sure on, but I'd wager that's the problem that's causing a crazy idle
