Default Problem with fuses.

Hey, I have a 00 civic sedan. Recently the fuse for my parking lights blew and I replaced it with an oem one and it blew right away. When I went to my local auto parts store I got another fuse however this time it was not an oem one. It does not fit flush but it is the same amperage. The fuse did not blow when I turned the parking lights on however my low beams come on with the parking lights now as well as a dim high beam indicator. When I actually turned the switch all the way for the low beams to come on the high beams came on. Then when I pulled the switch for the high beams the headlights went to low beams and the high beam indicator light lit up all the way. I decided to change the fuse to one that fit properly (oem) and when I did I noticed it blew right away. Any idea as to what I should do?

hmmm its hard to really say without looking at it... something is deff up with the wiring... what i would do is get a multimeter and check for resistance in the circuit

Do you mean fuse number 32? It's a 7.5A fuse that covers the front parking lights, taillights and license plate lights.

Yes, that is the fuse. All of a sudden it started working as normal, by itself.

Did the car come from Canada? It almost sounds like a malfunctioning Daytime Running Lights controller to me?
