check fuse #31 in main fuse box under the hood - #31 is at top at end of fuse box closest to front of car - 60 amp fuse
have you checked the voltage at the battery with engine running?

Battery light has nothing to do with the battery being bad. Wish people would understand this is something with the charging system. I would bet your alternator is going south. Check all your connection to the alt and check the everything with volt meter.
the guy at kregan told me i needed another battery so he say, and when you say check all connections for the alternator, do you mean just the two on the alt? and i dont have a volt meter

oh man ive been here! i went through 3 advance alts and they "tested good" but they werent. its prob just your alternator. go to napa or somewhere u can trust and buy a brand new alternator. i have a brand new Denso. its a bit more but worth it. if u search on here u will find the post about my charging system troubles. GL this problem drove me crazy! almost sold the hatch over it! D@MN local part stores!
ok sounds like my best bet is get my old battery back because its only 2 years old
return the new battery and buy a new alt and pray to the honda gods or something hoping it works lol, ok thanks ill let you guys know whats up gotta go take it off again

The problem with the tester at autozone is that it doesn't test a range of speeds. if a few coils are broken in the alternator, it may test great at driving rpm, i.e. 3k-4k rpm, but at 800-900rpm idle speed the alt. doesn't generate enough power.
word i have been looking for a post on this for a while. my charging system light is just barely on, always. not completely on and i can only see it at night. i did check the alternator with a voltmeter so i am going to check out the fuse as well. if that does not solve my problem, should i next test my grounds?
Get a voltmeter, and connect it to the battery. Check to voltage with the car off, and then again while the car is running and get back to us with these numbers. That is where you start on this problem.
99% sure its your alternator. If it was your grounds the car would not start and the battery light would not come on.
The alternator is grounded through its case. Therefore the engine/trans ground is the alternator ground(the starter is the same way which is why I highly doubt its the ground).
If you do test voltage of the battery with the car running make sure your setting is on dc volts. Also your voltage should be 13.5-15v with a properly charging alternator.

and this makes more since. so there is no need to check the ground on the alt. some ppl told me to do this and i was pretty sure there wasnt a ground coming off the alt.

damn i would cry. my car is stock, but i love it. when my motor dies i will figure something out.
Back to the alternator. I have this weekend to myself for the most part so I might try and see what I get. This has been going on since I got the car in June, and I have not had any problems with the car other than me leaving the damn lights on. I will get back to ya'll and let you know. Thanks for the advice
