Track Racing vs. Street racing
Hey Guys first time posting on this board first a little about me untill last week I drove a 93 civic 4dr (eg9) with a JDM b16a hydro and your basic 2g's worth of mods intake headers exhaust springs exc. Last week some bitch wasent paying attention and rear ended me totaling my car Lucky me I found a buddy that had a 93 hatch with a blown motor 6000 from her insurance for my car 1400 to buy it back and 1500 on a new home for my engine and I am looking good. There now that you know about my car here is my simple question (or maybe its not so simple)
I have never raced on a track, I have done my fair shair of street races but on the street I cant launch at more than 2500 RPM or I will have serious tire spin (205 40 zr17's ) Now I understand the concept of there being better traction on a drag strip than there is on a back county rd I just wanted some tips on how to launch on a strip ...... Thanks a ton on a side bar how many people street race here

ill race on the street, but like organized street racing i dont touch with a pole.
anyway, at the track, take those 17's off and put the stock wheels back on, drop the tire pressure to 23~ then work your way down, launch at about 3000. move up or down depending on wheelspin and the 60" times
good luck.

racing at the track is more fun anyways, how often do you get to race to 100MPH +? I could race at the track every wed. and saturday for the whole season + buy 100 octance gas for the price of one speeding/racing ticket...
plus when your staging you can chat with people, meet domestic people that are 'cool' and learn.
good luck with your rebuild. I'm glad some people got good deals on there insurance. My freind got $10,000 for his 2000 SI, with I/H/E/vafc/konis/Alpine,CF hood. that had a cracked up front... totaled
