Default single stage vtec?

I just got the Skunk 2 type r intake manifold and have some different answers to my question. By just putting on the intake manifold will it automatically change to single stage vtec? or do I need to change the celenoid too? Im planning on buying a vtec controller and a chipped ecu if that has any difference... thanks

are you serious? they dont have 2 stage vtec, they are called butterflies. its a secondary throttle body inside the manifold. only gsr's intake maifolds have them. search them up. people have done this before. and no you dont have to change the sylenoid. vtec controllers do absolutly nothing for you. your ecu still doesnt add extra fuel and air till the factory set rpm. i think you need to reseach a little more.

i guess the noobier noob told the other noob huh? lol. i'm gonna take a guess and assume that you are asking if your actually gonna hear vtak with a skunk2 manifold? i would think so. they can be pretty loud. a solenoid is a solenoid, you don't have to replace that. as for a chipped ecu, it helps but not significantly if you only have an intake manifold. as for a vtak controller, eehhh result vary and so do opinions. i think they can help, but other modifications are needed to actually benefit. just my .02
