Default rebuild ?

I recently purchased a b18c1 that was dissassembled; one of the cylinders has some scoring.. (spun a bearing?)

I will likely get the block bored, and probably run some oem jdm or usdm gsr pistons (I want to keep the compression down becuase I want to leave myself the option to boost later)

Now.. as far as the head is concerned... What if anything do I need to do to the valvetrain?? I plan on replacing all gaskets and seals, but will I need to replace all the valvetrain, or is there a way to clean it up for the time being?? (I'm on a budget)

Eventually I'd like to build the head up, do some s2s2's, full skunk valvetrain, adjustable cam gears, etc.. something to that effect anyways...

will the stock valvetrain be reuseable for the time being and if so, what is the best way to clean it up?

thanks for the help guys!

yes the stock valvetrain will be usable but it wont be strong. bigger cams on oem valves springs are hard on the the springs, and you might get engine noise. its worth it to just save up for the S2 valvetrain you want so you dont run into problems later on. plus its more work to put it all in then replace later on. might as well do it all at the same time and throw a strong motor into your car.

I was planning for right now if I can use the stock valve train I would run a completely stock head (cams included)

thanks for the replies!
