I'll introduce myself first off. I'm an avid member of Nasioc and ClubWRX, I have been on here for a few years using my brothers account. I drive a WRX, but constantly work on my brothers car, and other "kids" around here.

Anyway here goes. We currently have two projects that are just begining. Starting with Sohctodohc's 94 Purple EJ (Hence Purple Nurple).

I know its all pretty basic and has been covered a million times, but hey why not again? In the near future we will either be going All Motor with Skunk/Crower Cams, Lovefab 4-1 Header and Hondata. Or FI with a Lovefab Mani and SC61 Snail.

Either way its a big project that probably won't end anytime soon.

D15/16/??? Its sort of like a mini-me, but its actually the crackhead conversion.
Knocking, burning Lucas like its 0w oil
D15b7 block with D16a1 (or 6 out of CRX) Head. D15Z1 AEM Intake. Some Random Header off of D16a1/6?

H22a Swap
M2B4 LSD Trans
New bushings and ball joints.
Shocks off of Purple Nurple.
H&R Sport Springs (going to be teh DD/Sleeper)
Some wheels (Undecided)
2.5 Exhaust with 2 14" resonators and Magnaflow Muffler for stealthy operation.

We will have tons of pictures, and probably some write up's incase we come accoss something that has not been described or written up. (which I'm sure it already has.)

We chose the full H swap on both cars because of the lack of drivebililty of the H2B swap. Clearance Issues.

We are shooting for mid to low 8's with the EJ, which is a little far fetched for a basically stock H. But Drag Radials and some experienced driving might get us there.

We will also be testing waters with Uncle Scotty's Transmission Cocktail (was designed for WRX's 5speed Glassbox) but should make shifting the M2B4 much smoother. However, we are leaving out the Ultralightweight Shockproof that the reciepe calls for.

Feel free to hate or do whatever. But since we've done alot of stupid stuff and never documented it I figured it would be a good time to start.

front suspension is done bushing wise. manual steering rack is in. but having a problem with the knuckle that connects the rack to steering column.

does everyone reuse the power steering knuckle or the one that comes with the manual rack? the one that comes with the rack is hitting the splines somewhere not sure where. but its not gonna fit so a little help is needed here.

h22 will arrive thursday or friday, rear disk and bushings will be goin on this weekend. and hopefully weekend after that the engine will be going in.

any comments or help is appreciated.

 

I've done a little work, but the parts are coming in the wrong order. Anywho I guess I will save this Post for future pictures.

The mounts look good. The Cusco Coils will be here Wednesday. Its slow going, but next weekend will go into full swing.

Project Yedi is currently on hold, until this project is finished.

engine is in the car. only took us a couple hours yesterday. so now got all of the small tedious stuff to do. and wait for the new cusco coilovers to come in.

wiring harness is done.
fuel line is ready to go.
alternator wiring is done.

couple questions though. what heater hose did you guys use? from the driver side heater core pipe to the back of the engine? and what did you guys do for the clutch line??

after that and mounting the shifting assembly it will be ready to go.

 

alright so another update. figured out the clutch line and heater hose.

now onto the bad....car started but is running horribly. figured out we had number 1 and 4 injectors wired backwards haha. changed those now its running a little better. but still alot of problems throwing a code 6 and 21. but both are plugged in. and both are known good sensors.

on to the real bad cylinder 1 and 4 are running rich but actually burning the fuel. as for number 2 and 3 cylinder there is spark but is verrrrrryyyy weka. if you let it run for a minute or two and pull a plug they are completely drenched.

did a compression test and went 240-245-250-250.

so thats good.

now it will barely keep itself idling i have to give it gas, and it has horrible throttle response.(tps i think is out of adjustment), and it pops and backfires through the intake, only happen like twice. but if i bring the revs up it kinda brings itself out of the spitting and sputtering. tried to check the timing on it but the crank pulley doesnt have any marks on it what so ever.

is there a certain way to check the timing on a h22a? is it different from other honda engines? and it is shooting gas out the exhaust like a full foot or two behind the car.

im really at a loss. the only thing i can think of is some wiring issues. but i want to try everything else before rewiring it.

also we changed the spark plugs 180 out and it ran even worse so we know were not 180 degrees out of time. i dunno im really at a loss here. any help would be awesome. thanks

 

Nice project... I'm getting ready to begin the same, you're giving me a fresh heads up as to what I might expect. What was your clutch line issue? Can you post a pic?

As far as your misfiring, sputtering etc... I'd do what you said... check your injector wiring, injector order, and fire order. I'm not sure but maybe even timing.

There should be a mark on your flywheel. That kind of makes me think it's a timing issue. Have you hand turned your crank while looking for mark?

 

ight. the clutch line on the prelude runs differently from the firewall to the engine as the civic runs along the fender to the front preludes dont, when u get the engine you will see. all you need is some straight brake line. with the right fittings and you will be able to bend to what you need.

the running issues were all in the wiring we re-did the harness a second time, and now it will run and idle decent.

the new issues at hand are: fuel pump cant keep up and when you get on it, it throws a knock sensor code cause i think its spark knocking so i have a fuel pump on the way. and thats about it.

it runs like a striped *** ape. its retarded, it spins through first and second, and finally grabs in third and takes off like a bat out of hell. its fun, but no more driving til i get the new fuel pump.

the whole damn car shakes at an idle with the hasport mounts, but im gonna have to get use to it i guess.

otherwise im happy as hell.
