Big Phat R meets Godzilla in Ginza : 2008 Nissan GTR!!! (lotsa HD pix)
Hello my H-T brothers. Big Phat R (Jonathan) here reporting from my hotel in Tokyo. I am writing this to you because I have been up for 4 hours straight editing/postprocessing and uploading photos from my room because I am giddy with excitement and wanted to show you these pics I took right away.....
I have been here for about 3 days so far visiting family with my Dad. It's been a very long time since I've been here last and I wanted to make sure I saw as much as I could in the 10 days I am here... So far I have been Ogikubo, Shinjuku, Ginza, Harajuku, Roppongi, Tokyo, Shibuya and Kamakura (where I saw the great Buddha). I've seen a ton of new things.....but nothing....nothing that can compare to what I saw last night....
Yesterday I was just tooling around with my Dad in Ginza and just happened to stumble across a Nissan showroom displaying this tiny little economy car. I saw a little paper display with a picture of the GTR on it and asked if they were showing that car -- and lo and behold they said I could see it a the Nissan Headquarters which was just down the street!! Hot damn!
About five minutes later I came across this...... I will let the pictures say the rest....
The English language lacks strong enough superlatives to adequately describe how beautiful and menacing and expletiveing cool this car is.
I have sat in Carrera GTs, Ferrari F430s , Maseratis, 997 S/TT/GT3/GT3 RS, Ford GTs, McClaren SLRs etc and NOTHING NOTHING is as cool as this car......well maybe my friend Brian's 997 GT3 RS
The seats are firm and fit perfect, driving position is great, vision is great (although you do feel as if you are in a massive car), fit and finish are excellent and on par with Porsche (top of the dash is stitched black leather btw). To all the naysayers that say it's "just a Nissan" --- well gentlemen -- the bar is officially raised.
The sound system was working and it sounded fantastic -- very deep bass and good imaging. I played around with the info center but it was all in Japanese and I couldn't figure it out - while at the same time taking pictures with my camera -- while not trying to take too much time inside the car while other people were waiting....
What else?..... my brain is fried right now because of jet lag, lack of sleep trying to upload all this friggin pics and excitement.
Today I have the day to myself ..... I'm thinking I just might head back down to Ginza again ....
Put BPR down for a 2008 GTR in Pearl White please.... or maybe red..... or black???
I don't know why no one has posted pics like this before -- since anyone can go -- but I thought you guys would like to see this stuff.
Sorry to the owners of H-T -- hopefully my post doesn't crash the servers....
I am officially impressed.

That's bad *** Jon, definitely thanks for sharing, and post up the rest of the pictures you take in here as well, I'm sure you'll see some bad *** stuff most of us only dream about.
Cool pictures.
That display with all the gauges in one is just crazy, even crazier seeing more than one GTR at a time. I think the wheels would look a bit better if they were a tad smaller, but than that might throw the rest of the body off
Any others?

While you at it, catch a train to Aoyama and visit HONDA SHOWROOM.
Next to Odaiba for Toyota Land & historical Garage.
Finally end your day in finding yourself a Piano bar to relax with some Japanese girls in serving you drinks & telling you how great you are!!
