Swapping out pistons in rods in a H22
Hey guys, my ultimate goal is to join the prelude family, and continue mowing faces on the track. I took my first step today by acquiring a h22 motor and tranny with 35000 miles on it. I plan to build up my motor for forced induction, and THEN find a shell to drop it in. I have very limited technical experience, but i guess im what youd call a tinkerer? I can pick up on things super fast once i read and see them. So my first step was going to be to sleeve the block, and replace pistons and rods. Do you guys recommend I send it out to have it done professionally, or get a helms and have at it? Any input would be awesome. Thanks guys.
i recommend you sending it out to get it done unless u are experience with motor rebuilt. i would recommend CP piston low compression piston, eagle or crower rods for turbo setup.. that what im using and it working good

Golden Eagle can sleeve and also assemble your block for you. they are located in California but ship out blocks all the time.
Talk to Robert at Golden Eagle (909)592-4311
Good luck!

yeah, theres no way you can sleeve a block yourself unless you have access to some wicked machinery. but the rest of the build is possible if you are patient and do your homework. i personally dont let anyone touch my car until i establish their level of common sense. which can be hard to do
.
.
u can also go with mahle pistons and dont have to sleeve the block, if your useing the closed deck h22 you can boost it 20psi plus with no problems.
