How can you tell a y5 head from a 78 head?

How can you tell a y5 head from a 78 head?

I have a friend who needs to know for sure this engine has a y8 head, and not just the manifold. Thanks.

pop the valve cover off and look for no third lobe on the cam and roller rocker arms

But isnt the Y5 head vtec, too? Maybe I'm thinking of a different motor with vtec-E
