New here.......Have questions.
I just bought a 90 Lx 4dr with 93K on it for a grand....I think I got a good deal...let me know. Anyway when I put it onto drive or reverse it vibrates alot....not to much and never when I drive it...it's rock solid at any speed, just when I'm sitting at a light or some thing like that. Besides the fact that it smokes(and uses oil) and the pealing clear coat it's perfect. I think the vibe is from worn out motor mounts but I wanted to know if any of you guy had a idea.
This isn't going to be my first and last post I have plans for this car and I love it.

Congrats on your purchase. Enjoy it and treat it right.
As you suspect, vibration at idle could be torn engine mounts. However, misadjusted valves or worn ignition components can cause vibration too. At that mileage, I'm surprised it's using oil. My '90 Civic Si with over 270k miles on it used only a 1/4 quart between 5000 mile change intervals. Maybe your plugs are fouled by now. NGK plugs are the best in my opinion.

I have low compression in cylinder #2...I suspect that is where my oil use is comming from...the head was redone 2k ago by a Honda shop so I hope the work was good...the guy that owned it befor me kept really good records. I hope to install a new motor soon, but I would like some advice on the right motor for me and my car. I have a great set of tools and have worked on cars in the past(old school stuff) but I don't want to deal with alot of tech stuff ether. Somthing with a little more power but nothing crazy...that I can bolt in and not get to crazy....thanks and when you have time let me know or maybe you can point me in the direction of some one who can help.
