Default A few pics of my '83 Civic 1500 S

Here are a few pics of my '83 1500S. I've had a few guys PM me asking for some pics, so I thought I'd throw up a post.

It's all stock except for the wheels and the window tint. I also added a CRX steering wheel because it looks very nice on the car. And the floormats are reproduction, but I do still have the originals.

I keep it pretty much in storage in the backyard in a portable garage, and bring it out about once every 3-4 months to drive it a few miles.

The bumper is off in the pics, but I do have it and it is in great shape.

I would drive it more but the headgasket is on its way out and I don't feel like messing with it now. It's a long term project. Up first on the agenda is to get the seats redone in the original style.

Find me some springs for less than $600 shipped to America that lower it more than 1" and I'll gladly lower it!

Seems a little steep for only 1". It needs a 1.75- 2" drop to look very good.

I'm working on a coilover setup that isn't brittle like all the other coilover (sleeve) kits you see on some of these older cars.

That thing is a minter! Very nice! What's the deal with the headgasket? Don't let it sit if water is leaking into the cylinders...

Thanks for the compliments guys.

Well fluids are milky.... I just assume headgasket. 214k nothing internally touched. I'm honestly surprised it's still running.

I'm going to replace or rebuild the engine at some point. I just have 2 trillion other projects ahead of it. You guys know how it is.

You might want to try cleaning out the crankcase breather if you've got milky oil. The baffles in that raised part of the valve cover could be clogged, the breather tube on the back of the valve cover, and the condenstion chamber could be clogged too. The chamber is at the end of the breather hose attached to the bottom of the air cleaner. If any of that is clogged, it won't allow the crankcase vapors and moisture to escape your engine, and all that builds up. It's a free check and won't hurt anything by cleaning all that stuff up, and could do your engine a world of good.
