want to get HIDs
I've recently bought a 03 honda accord but i didn't pick it up from the person yet . I want to get HID lights for the car. I don't know whether to get xenons or bi xenons because I don't know if my high beam and low beams are one bulb or if my high beam and low beams are two separate bulbs. Can somebody tell me?
Thanks.
Thanks.
since its talks about the high beam and low beam separately, that means its two different bulbs right?
so, say, if i get HID for only the low beam, my highbeam would still work right? / installing a retrofit HID for the lowbeam wont affect the highbeams?

yeah, if it lists separately, than you have one for low, one for high.
installing a pnp kit or retrofitting the low beam, should leave the high beam operational. with an hid kit or retrofit, you should use a separate wiring harness to feed power from your battery to your ballasts. and depending how this harness is wired, your high beams should still work.

regularly, the digital ballast is better than normal ballast, it can control the currency well and is more stable, and it can work longer.
another thing, the bulbs should also match the ballast well, it will be flash or flick if there is something wrong with them

your bulbs will work perfectly fine with your ballast. Your ballast will power up any D2R or D2S bulb

thanks prelude. and also, i read somewhere that if u touch the bulbs its ruined from like the oil from ur skin. is it only ruined if theres oil on it and the bulb is used? or is it ruin regardless if its used as long as oil is on it. because i bought hid bulbs from ebay and im not too sure if they touched the bulb or not..
and can i clean it after i got the bulbs like with alcohol and a cloth? like, can i clean the WHOLE bulb or theres certain parts i shouldnt have alcohol on it (like the metal part) , i duno it scares me cause these bulbs are hell expensive.. =/

Any surface contamination, notably fingerprints, can damage the quartz envelope when it is heated. Contaminants will create a hot spot on the bulb surface when the bulb is turned on. This extreme, localized heat causes the quartz to change from its vitreous form into a weaker, crystalline form which leaks gas. This weakening may also cause the bulb to rapidly form a bubble, thereby weakening the bulb and leading to its failure or explosion, and creating a serious safety hazard. Consequently, quartz lamps should be handled without ever touching the clear quartz, either by using a clean paper towel or carefully holding the porcelain base. If the quartz is contaminated in any way, it must be thoroughly cleaned with rubbing alcohol and dried before use.
p.s. i work with theater lighting insturments that use very powerfull hallagon bulbs i have seen this happen and the bubble can get quite large to where you have to break the bulb to remove it.

so i should probably clean it regardless just in case if the person that sold it to me accidently touched it..
but im concerned about where i can and cannot clean. im not sure if theres any part of the bulb i shouldn't clean like these Two areas in the pictures:

because IF I CAN i kind of want to use alcohol to clean the WHOLE bulb. im just afraid i might mess something up because i dont know anything about this.
is it necessary to clean those two parts indicated in the picture, because thats only where i touched the bulb, and i dont know what affects touching those area has on the bulb.
thanks
