Default D16Y7 intake manifold swap!!!

Yo guys just have a simple question. Will an aftermarket intake manifold like the skunk2 one fit onto my d16y7 head? I do not want to do a vtec head swap but instead just put on a different manny so i can actually put on a good cai, cause i can't on my current manifold since its the gay design where the throttle body sits on top the manifold not on the side. any help would be great!

why is that design gay? its a better design than most because it delivers air more equally to each cylinder than the log style mani's that deliver more to the first one and less to the second, even less to the third and even less two the fourth. the problem is no one make a higher flowing manifold with this design.

does anybody know if there is an ARC style airbox for the y7? one that sits right on top of the throttle body? that would be really cool

there are setups for the y7 but the design of the y7 intake manifold is very restrictive. its designed for the economy level performance. i would switch over to a y8 manifold for a better design and more performance.

well my point was the design itself was better, but yea the z6 or y8 mani probably flows better in this case. but ti would be cool of someone made y7 style mani that flows better.

it will switch over but the IACV needs to be converted. y7 is 3 wire, y8 2 wire. everything will swap over. search IACV Fix.

you dont need to swap over to the 2 wire if you keey your same TB and everytihng else, if al your doing is swaping the manifold all you need to do is get a block off plate for the IACV spot that should be on the back of the new manifold, otherwise everything else swaps over, including injectors, fuel rail ect.
