This guy swears up and down that he pulled these from his type r head. But they look just like b17 cams. So wtf. I get screwed or what?

The exhaust cam has 3 lines (2 groves) and the intake cam has 2 lines, but they seem closer together than the type r pics i've seen.

Probably, to be quite honest. Should have done the research on them before you bought. Coulda called him out on the spot.

Anybody have an idea of what I should do? The transaction was done through paypal. So I could put in a claim? He wants me to send them back and then he's gonna look at them and make sure that they are the ones he sent me. But i'm afraid that he's gonna just say they aren't his and then I'm double screwed. No money or cams

 

file the claim, and if he's local why would you have to send them back?

 

well local as in same state. ha. Got it from a local board. I'm like 4+ hours away now.

Well you can send them back - but in all honesty if it was only 4 hours I'd drive out there and have a talk with him (a real talk, with words, not a "talk") - if he refuses to cooperate file a claim with paypal - that the item is not as described.

Though I'm confused why you feel you got screwed.

Maybe I'm missing something but it seems like you got what was described?

 

look at the groove on the outer ring. it doesn't match

This has happened to me too. Ended up just selling them to someone for cheap.

Thing is, this seems to happen ALL the time and its almost always B17s that are the ones being confused. So it made me start thinking that maybe there were ITR cams that looked like this also? I don't know, just trying to see things on the brighter side

 

that's what I was hoping... Maybe an early b18c5 had some that looked like this? This kid keeps saying he pulled them from his ITR head. I wish there was a damn part number or something. But he also said a mechanic installed his skunk2 cams, so it's possible that the mechanic could have swapped his old ones with b17 cams without his knowledge.

But if someone was verify that these COULD be ITR cams then I'm worrying for nothing.

 

If it happens that often with b17 cam confusion then there must be some ITR cams that look like these. I mean come on, how many b17s can there be. They were only made from 92-93 and only gsr's right?

the same thing almost happened to me too..so dont feel stupid.. except my deal were b-16 .. thank god i did my homework though before hand.. and also i should thank honda tech for that one!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm pretty sure PayPal can only insure you up to 200 dollars.

I recently bought an ITR console and never recieved it for 280, and now I'm out 80 bucks.
