Default brake light

For some reason when i'm driving my brake light comes on. it'll go off if i completely take my foot off the gas for like 2 min. or hit the brakes. my ebrake is down all the way, not even in use while i'm driving. might this just be a bad sensor, brakes are going bad, or an electrical problem? any help would be greatly appreciated. i know its kinda hard to say exactly with out actually looking at the car.

If your talking about the brake light in the cluster usually, in most other cars I have worked on, the speed sensor is bad. But I have never worked on a honda for that. On other cars the speed sensor is at the wheels. Do you have abs?

your talking about the abs sensor right? not the vehicle speed sensor on the transmission.

OP: when you pull up the e-brake does the light on the dash come on? (assuming your talking about the indicator light and not the actually brake lights on the back if the car)

the tailight bulb is a double filament(it provides rear running lights and brake lights on the same bulb) the easiest check you can do is to make sure the bulb wasnt put in backwards and the wrong contacts are touching.......who knows you might get lucky and have an easy fix

He's talking about the brake warning light on the gauges.

Definitely check the fluid first.

This happened to me about a month ago. Once the fluid was topped up it never happened again.
