hey everyone. i pick up a 97 civic HX and the trans is ****, it pops out of second gear. I will don't care about all that but i just wanted to know if i installed a short shifter would it make it worse on my trans?? i not going to beat on it but i just cheat the long shifts.

 

A short shifter wont make it worse, or better. Its the syncros, only way to help that is change the trans fluid and be easy on it.

 

ohh ya i know it wont make it better. i already change the fluid. i was wondering because i read up that a short shifter would ruing the syncros because of the shorter shifts

thats just something people think but Id have to see physical evidence that a shortshifter is the problem.

out of how many h-t members owning shortshifters there would have been plenty of trannys gone to sh*t by now if that were true.. Its all in good shifting and preventative maintenance...
