i just chked my engine compression and here is what it was
Cylinder1-120psi, 2-60psi, 3-120psi and in 4-35psi
i did this test after weird problems with the car, like
weak starting, bad mpg, and when i take spark plug wires off the car shuts off, should it do that
well i was selling the cad but i dont wanna sell someone a bad car cuz that would be wrong i know theirs something wrong
well could it be the piston rings thats causing this and what could bad piston rings cause
any help would be appreciated, should i chge the rings

 

Did you do the test with the engine warm? Throttle fully opened? Is your timing correct and the valves adjusted properly?

If you put a little motor oil into each cylinder and repeat the test, do the numbers improve?

Reringing an engine isn't cheap. The rings can be stuck also, letting the pressure leak past. My guess is you have a problem in the upper part, valve seal or something.

 

engine was warm, why would it matter if thr is open and no i didnt put oil in the cylinders i comp forgot ill do that tommarow though, timing has got to be correct cuz i drive it daily 30 miles, today i drove it 200 miles and it drove fine but started weak after like 4 seconds

well i do work myself i can finish piston rings in one day for 100$, do u really thing the valves are worn or bad, ohh what are valve seals, my bad i know but need a memory flash lol thx for helpin anyways

 

most likely the rings are bad.

 

what else could be wrong cuz ill ave the head off might as well do a minor rebuild of the seals and stuff
