Default Is my car sellable? have title but not fully transfered due to smog

I'm thinking of selling my car. Tags are from may 2007 because car will not pass smog. I have been running on temp dmv tags since the tags expired. I bought the car as is without the seller smogging about 1 1/2 years ago.

I have the title.

registered in my name.

transfer is not complete due to no smog.

Would it be possible to sell this car, and how would the process work.

If you can find a sucker than yes,but i don't think it's legal to sell a car in ca without a passing smog certificate.

You should be able to sell it now since it's private but it will probably be hard to find a buyer.

ok i see the problem, you would have to go to the dmv to get the title transferred to you but i think you need a smog certificate to do that or maybe it's only for registration.
This will help.

You can transfer a title without smog, but it is not complete till there is a smog check done.Meaning you cannot get tags for a car or the title. If the title is still open(not transfered to you yet officially)you would have to have two bill of sales one from the og seller to you and one from you to the new buyer.Just get a smog for the car. It's not hard to do.Or sell it for cheap as-is,someone will buy it.You are not supposed to sell cars as-is with no smog. But you can.Just make sure the person will not sue you for repairs because they will win, without a doubt.
Get a smog check=making your life easier
