does the main relay need to be bolted back into place for car to start? I pulled my main relay because it was bad, picked up a new one, and put it in, tried starting the car and it still does not want to turn over, it is just cranking, but I have not bolted the main relay back in place could that play a part in it does the bracket that it is attached to act as a ground
From my experience no it doesn't need to be put back in the factory position. Recently replaced mine and didn't bother fishing it back into the factory spot i just zip tied it to the big bundle of wires under the dash, no where specific just a spot out of the way. Now as far as your problem i had the same one, is the fuel pump priming when you turn the key on? If not first check for blown fuses then check the voltage at the pump connector under the back seat and if you are good there check the pump. In my case i had a bad pump. All this is posted in my build thread as well.
Are main relay problems known to act up more when the car is hot.
Usually when I try my car right after its been driving for a while, it will turn on but almost instantly die..
I am thinking that the solders and metals expand & dont make a connection? Sound right?
