D15b mated to a ZC tranny?
hey guys im in need of a tranny for my 88 std i cant find a legit one for a reasonable price. i have a friend that has a ZC tranny and is willing to give it to me so i wanted to know if its possible to use the tranny. i know mine is a 21 spline and the ZC is a 20 spline. i know the clutches need to be relplaced so will it work? thnx guys
if it is a true ZC transmission, it isn't going to work unless you get custom axles - the ZC transmission uses an intermediate axle shaft with larger axles like the Integra - your stock axles are too small to fit into the transmission - you would need axles with the smaller STD/HF CV joints on the outer end to fit the smaller STD hubs and the larger Integra type CV joints on the inner end to fit the transmission - you can't use an intermediate shaft with the D15 engine as the block has no place to bolt on the shaft
