1999 Accord V6 Engine Light is On, What should I do?
Hello Everyone,
I have a 1999 V6 Accord and the engine light just turned on 2 days ago. The only problem I can see/feel is the engine revving randomly even if I don't press on the gas. When the car is in park, the rpm goes up to 3 then down to 1 and it repeats. I was wondering if you guys can provide me with some of your opinions before I take it into the shop.
Thanks very much,
Derek

My old Nissan I had did that and we fixed 3 different problems that a mechanic screwed up and it fixed it. It was either the MAP sensor, the throttle control sensor, or the fact that the O2 sensors were wired backwards haha
take it to like autozone or advance auto and have them scan the code for you. this will help prepare you for a trip to the garage.
I actually went there earlier today and did the scan thing. The code that came out was P0505, which means the idle air control valve is not functioning well. AutoZone said the part will cost around $100, should I just order the part from them?
this exact thing happened to my 98 accord v6........its worth payin the 100$ bec if u go anywhere else most likely ur going to pay more than that...but i dont know about the installing part.. i also need help with that
I bought the Idle Air Control Valve from Pepboys today for $105.99 with tax. I guess the next thing is to find out where the it's located under the hood. Do you guys know where it is?
Thanks
Thanks
