Default Smog Info for Washington State. Need some info from you Washingtonians

i am moving march 1st to Blaine/Bellingham WA in Whatcom County by the Canadian border.

Can someone tell me what the smog laws are in that state/region? Would I be able to smog my b16a obdo with no issues? How do smog rules apply there?

thanks!

Depending on the county you may not have any smog checks. Here in Pierce County as long as you pass the sniffer you're good to go. I've never even had to pop my hood.

I have a almost stock hatch and they just do the sniffer test and thats all. If you fail you can have a shop on their list do $150 or more worth of work including the dionogistic and you can get a waver. But they pop your hood and you MUST have the stock motor and emissions equipment installed to get the waver. My buddy has a CRX with a B16 and they wouldn't let him get waver so he had to do some work to pass. But as long as you meet the numbers they don't care what you have under the hood. BTW I live in southern Washington in Clark County. A lot of guys register their cars just north of here where there are no emissions.
