Just looking for any thoughts/inputs from anyone who has installed a megan racing carbon fiber m spec II muffler. I'm looking to get a new one off ebay and I had a couple concerns about welding hangers on it.

The auction listing says it comes with a clamp to weld the hangers onto. Now, I'm wondering if there would be the issue of the clamp rubbing and shifting around due to vibrations, heat, and what not and scratching up the carbon fiber (whether it's real or not doesn't concern me I just liked the look of black muffler on silver car). I just don't want it to scratch it up and cause a hole or some **** to form on the side of the muffler.

I was thinking about trying to weld the clamp to one of the metal end caps and thus keep it from possibly moving around - any idea if that would be too far forward or back to reach the hook mounts?

So that brings me to another question, does anyone know if the clamp is stainless steel or not? The auction is an authentic Megan muffler in box. If the clamp is stianless I won't have to worry about it rusting out on me.

It will be going on to an 02 ex coupe. I'll be having an exhaust shop put it on. A search came up with a couple for sale posts but nothing about addressing hanging it.

From the pictures i found online i think the clamp is aluminum.
I'm not sure if the clamp would shift. The exhaust shop would be able to answer your questions.
