Default Annoying leak, exhaust gurus inside!!!

Well I'm tired of trial and error, so now I've turned to you guys. I put on a DC Sports header about a month ago. It obviously came with a new doughnut gasket, and of course, I put that on. I checked for leaks, and there is definitely one at that point. It seems like no matter what I do, I can't fix it. What do you guys think?

I know this is kind of hard to anwser, but any input is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Brandon

Phew! I thought I was the only one! I was thinking of maybe buying a more solid gasket? The one they gave me was "meshy." I've seem some even at Advance Autoparts that are metal, and seem a lot more tough.

is it leaking where the gasket is? if that is where it is i think you can use some, i think its called, silicone gasket sealer/maker.

Yeah it is. I pulled the gasket it off, and around one part of the gasket, black carbon was almost completely covering it. I have some gasket maker (up to like 700 degrees I believe). You think that'll do the trick? Should I apply it with everything tightened up?

it should. i have a bolt that snapped where the header meets the head and another where the header meet the downpipe and it seals those spots.

your supposed to apply it where the two spots meet on both ends, wait a few min, then bolt everything back up.
