Ok im running a y8 swap in my hatch and it is sluggish a bit.
Ok here is what my problem might be ( the dizzy im using from the stock motor that came in the CX 8 valve motor.... and the car hits rev limiter at 5800-6000 way to low for the y8. Now my question is can I just use a z6 dizzy and call it a day? I heard that the z6 dizzy wont line up with the holes on a y8? What can I do need help pn this ASAP! Thanks for looking



The y9 doesnt have the little plug as the 93 and it wont run right what do I do?

open up the cap check visually to see if the solinoids (forgot what is called but its a block that all the wires tie into) cross refrence with haynes, to double check and hard wire the new one without the harness (this is not the preferable way) and i do belive some ignition systems will bypass all that BS using a seprate control module

DONT GO CUTTING WIRES TILL YOUR 100% POS THAT THEY WILL WIRE UP TO INCLUDE OUTPUT AND INPUT VOLTAGES

 

the z6 dizzy would work if you had the OBD1 plugs on your Y8 harness. otherwise the plugs wont match up and it is worthless.

 

Im using the stock CX harness to just get a z6 Dizzy and it will bolt up to the y8?

 

the CX harness is a non vtec harness so you will also need that plug to wire up also.

 

I have the VTEC working man I dont need advice on that... the car is hitting VTEC good just the rev and sluggish. The car is complete and reasy to roll just dizzy problems.
