Just bought a 93 si with 160,000 miles for $1250 and am thinking about boosting in it...just wondering what ppl that have done it have to say about it????
H23s are great for boost. Stock lower compression than H22, and with the turbo improving the higher end power its perfect for the h23 which has really good low end power. Thus, in my opinion making a turboed h23 a good combo.
Age/mileage doesn't matter. If the compression/health of the motor shows good than he could do a mild boost without too much worries. Just tune it and he would be fine for a while.
1 year 2 months and 5 days is how long it will last.... are you serious? Are you really expecting him to tell you how long it will last? there are people who have lasted 1 week and some that have lasted over 3 years on stock block.
boosting an h23 right will take some time and money, but its very rewarding. hit me up for some help via pm.. and also I have some stuff youll need for sale. decide on your power goals as the first step and we can go from there.

yeah I am really expecting him to predict the exact time. I really don't give a fuc how long it lasts. Just saying it does not sound like a good idea to me. Oh , not saying I hope your motor blows either man. Just be careful, alot of people will tell you what you want to hear when it come to power adders. I believe nirVTEC said it best, if you cannot afford a back up motor..........
