Default OT: saw a new Evo today

didnt think they were due out til summer but I saw one today and I gotta say it actually looks 10x nicer in person than in pictures. pictures make it look like a big clunky sedan but in person it looks much smaller and compact. sorry no pics road and track magazine has a nice comparo between the Evo and STi and the Evo won every catagory and apparently the TC-SST transmission is so good its better in super sport automatic mode than in manual mode. the AYC is supposed to be awesome too. if i can convince my girl to get another MR ill have some pics then

My local dealership has 3 right now and they are pretty nice in person. Ive seen 2 on the road in MN so far. But if I was to buy one, it would probably be the 9 MR

I saw a blue evo at the eibach meet. It looks cut off at the ends but maybe it will grow on me.

maybe eibach should have lower it because the wheel gap seems a tad big. The Evo 10 will have to grow on me because the Evo 9 is my fav thus far. I just can't wait until the STi is seen on streets.

Honestly, I think the only good looking cars from Japan in the last three years have been the IS250/350 and the CR S2000.

The new STi looks like the latest Focus and the new Evo can't compete with the looks of the previous model.

I'm graduating in three months and a new car is on my list of things I want to get...

I really am interested in the Evo X, but after seeing the pictures Type ARRR posted, I'm not so sure.

I've been researching, but haven't found too much info as to when they'll be readily available. Anyone know?

Tempting.

I've been hearing 325hp, 0-60 4.5.

Still can not stand Mitsubishi products. Good car to beat on & give back, not for keeps.

Read the comparo in the latest road and track, i think youll be impressed with what they have to say and the testing that was done. i wonder how strong those new aluminum blocks are compared to the old iron blocks.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/ar...=6387

looks-wise i didnt like it in pictures either but in person its much more appealing. i agree the older one looks better too, its more agressive and edgy looking, but the new one is growing on me.

"The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X in GSR trim is estimated to start at $34,000."

"The MR is estimated to start at $39,000."

Also announced today were official EPA ratings for the Evo X. The GSR earned 16/22 mpg for city/highway, while the paddle-shifting MR did slightly better with 17/22 mpg.

Aw man. I'm not so sure about this. Dropping from 35-40MPG to 16/22 is like a nightmare.

Let the price gouging begin.

The f*cking retards at my local mitsu dealer are acting as if it's the "Lord's gift to the automotive kingdom". Now don't get me wrong, the evo 10 looks promising.

But when some lame *** mitsu salesman says "We'll entertain 5 grand over sticker for starters", nausea quickly ensues.

I really don't give a half a dozen flying turds how good the evo 10 is, I'd still rather have a manual 335i sedan sport package for the same money. Can you say RESALE VALUE?

It looks like the new Mitsubishi Gallant. Obvious merging of the car's design characteristics.
