Post up some of your best mileages on N/A built motors! I'm trying to figure out if the mileage I'm getting is the norm, or if it's low. Thanks guys.
I'll start it off:
B18C1
-Stock rods
-Balanced GSR Crank
-B16 pistons
-Head milled .01"
-Crower Stage 3 cams
-3 Angle Valve Job
-Supertech Valvesprings
-Manley Retainers
-Blox IM
-Generic Short Ram, BPi Velocity Stack w/ 6" K&N
-Rage Header, 2.5in collector, High-flow cat, 2.5 in piping all the way back through a twin loop
-Tuned on a Hondata S200, all on the dyno, no street tuning.
22mpg

It all depends on what injector size you are running...So do the math that way then it matters how old the set up is, and if the car has been tuned..
I don't like to post my setup on here, but I will say I have 200whp, tuned on Chrome by Jeremy at Redzone, just dyno tuning, no street tune.
On a GSR block with a B16 head.
Straight highway, 30mpg. Mixed street highway, 25-27.

Not necessarily. I am using a 440 CC injector and not pushing it all the way. Hell, I could use a 500cc injector and still get the same mileage.................

Thanks for the reply nuisance...No worries on not posting the setup, I just am looking for a general idea. I'm thinking that something is up with my tuning since I'm only getting 22. I think street tuning with some hardcore concentration on partial throttle would help, but I can't imagine it would get me 4-5 mpg around town.

Assuming you dont get on it, then you should get the same as you before. However, the biggest thing I would look at is if the O2 sensor feedback is turned off or on....if its turned off, then that is most likely your problem.

Yeah I've driven a full week shifting a 3k, not getting on it all, no VTEC...and it hit a whopping 23mpg.
I'll ask my tuner about the O2 sensor feedback, I was wondering how that worked...I couldn't figure out if the O2 was even used when it's tuned with a wideband already.
Thanks for the numbers guys. Once it gets warmer I'm gonna get scheduled for some street tuning time.

30-32mpg highway
25-27mpg mixed
22mpg worst so far
GSR PnP head
11.6:1 compression
CTR/ITR cams
HONDATA S300
my car has only been street tuned at this time.

shouldn't you be getting a lot more than 22? ur motor is jampacked with light stuff in it?

It would appear that I should be getting more... The "lightness" of the internals won't affect it much, but I would like to see at least 25-27 around town as that seems to be the average. I just bought the car a few months ago, so I'm trying to figure out everything done to it.
I just checked with my buddy who I bought it from, and it's got an o2 sensor that's only got like 5000 miles on it, and i verified that it does run in closed loop at partial throttle. I'm stumped...Would street tuning even help at partial throttle since it's in closed loop?

What kind of power are you making?
Make sure you are up on you routine maintanece, plugs, filters, oil changes. I am going to also assume you are running very rich, black on the bumper. You should get a new o2 sensor prior to you street tune. My car is just over 100k and I am planning on replaceing the o2 before my next dyno trip. My car is also running a bit rich.

Yeah, I'm racking my brain trying to think of things that could possibly need to be changed. The motor was rebuilt 6000 miles ago, so it got a new 02, timing belt, plug wires, dizzy, etc. and then within the last 1000, oil change, new plugs and a new air filter, and new grounds were installed.
Do you guys think that the 02 should be replaced even though it's only got 6000 miles on it? It's always done the black on the bumper thing, so I don't know that a new one would fix it. I'm stumped.
Right now I'm only make 175whp/125 wtq. Right before I bought the car, I had the owner put the high flow cat on (and he sold his icebox for an SRI) It used to make 192/130.

When my cousin got his car street tuned, they tuned for idle, low rpm and high rpm load, etc. So he gets like 36-38 mpg on his b20vtec thats boosted. I get 32-33mpg on my NA built GSR that was also street tuned. Im not sure how they dyno tuned your car, perhaps just under full load.

Good stuff, thank you! That's the kind of thing I was hoping to hear. They did tune WOT on the dyno, but I was told they also did a few different partial throttle positions. I'm guessing though, that it probably isn't quite right for very conservative street driving also.
I think I'm going to change out the thermostat also, to make sure I'm not riding around stuck in open loop for those 10 min trips.
Thanks guys! Keep em coming if you have any other ideas!
