I have a 89 civic Hb, DX i do believe. and im trying to get it to pass inspection. But my corner marker signals do not work right, they turn on with my running lights but never blink with my signal lights turned on. I tried new bulbs, i tried pretty much everything i can think of. What might this problem be? they are getting power and turning on with my running lights...
and well im out of ideas.

 

You replaced both bulbs in the corner light with the correct type?

 

yes i did. even thought canadian tire super service techs said it would do nothing.

 

Have you done any basic diagnosis? Tested for power to the sockets? Read the wiring diagrams? Anything? Do you expect to make a post, have someone hold your hand and magically it's fixed?

Make some effort.

 

Check the flasher relay in the fuse box.

Also check the hazard fuse if your hazards aren't working.

 

Yes i tested for power to the sockets.
yes i checked all fuses and flashers.
i even tried the 2 different bulbs that they sold for this car.

AND no i dont expect a easy fix. I thought maybe this might have been a common problem with honda's of that year. seeing as how this is my first Honda, i know almost nothing. But seeing as how i just got off the phone with Honda, the corner markers on a 89 hatchback do not signal, never have and never will on my car.
So i guess thats why i couldn't find the problem.
