I am getting this carbon fiber "spoon copy" lip soon, the guy selling them said it can be painted. I just wanted to ask you guys if you have had any experience with painting CF? is it just like everything else ? Will the paint last on it ok and stuff?

 

it takes alot to paint it right because of the "grain" so it could be costly .. but that would be defeting the whole pupose of cf

 

I see, I might just resell it when I get it, for some reason I thought it could be painted easily.

 

It is hard to paint. It can be prepped to paint though.

 

I don't think its very hard to paint. I had my carbon fiber hood painted twice and they didn't have a problem doing it.

 

how much is he charging you? I have a Vision lip, which is the same, but it's made out of fiberglass, which is very easy to paint. I think there's a company that makes fake Spoon lips in the states, but I'm not sure what the name is. I know Pann Auto in San Diego carried them for a while, try 1-858-278-7266, they ship nationwide.

 

It is already payed for, I got it for a good price. I am working on getting the WW RS lip though, I'll find out next week. I might just endup selling this one.

 

why the hell would you want to paint carbon fiber???? if you are going to paint it, just get the fiberglass one
