What grade is dom steel specifically ?

I see no info on it on searches, and who has use this in chassis building ?

DOM refers to the manufacturing process and not the grade or type of material. I have had DOM in 1020 and lately it seems mostly 1026 which I don't care for as much. There is much more springback when bending the 1026 and it punches much harder also.

I know the processes but there was no grade listed like it didnt matter much.
So it's a mild steel.

A material data list is available from your distributor. It has all of the necessary info on it.
Here is what my sheet says, it is from Plymouth Tube Company
ASTM-A-513-5 Welded mech.
Grade 1020
Finish Stress Relieve Anneal
Sheet also gives test number for yield and tensile strength.
