Hey guys i was wondering if anyone might be able to give me some advice. I recently bought a jdm cluster for my eg, and my old cluster worked minus the speedo. Now the new one works good, but the gas gauge is screwed i think.
It is almost always stuck just above 1/2 it doesnt move when i fill up or get low. On occasion it will drop to empty either well driving or just started the car. I am not sure what is going on. I have checked the connection to the cluster it self and everything seems to be nice and snug.
Also i have tried to manually adjust the gauge to full after filling up and it jsut drops back down to the 1/2 mark. Are there calibrating screws in the back of the cluster or anything?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Maybe the gauges just don't work. Your speedo stoped working on the old one. And now the JDM Gas gauge probably doesn't work. NOT the wiring. Maybe take a light tester to the wires and see if there is power going through?? OR get a hold of a gauge cluster that works and plug it in. see if that helps. GL
double check that the screws in the back of th cluster that hold in (and make electrical connection to) the gauge are snug. Sometimes they rattle loose.
if they're snug, you have two options in my opinion.
I beleive this would work... I'm not 100% that the EG6 cluster is the same internally though.
pull the needle from the new cluster, install the old cluster's fuel gauge guts in the new cluster.
install needle just after filling up completely, install needle just over the F.
second option, return cluster.

So i loosened and retightened the screws behind the gas gauge. One of the screws seems to be stripped/or something broken in the cluster itself as it will not tighten anymore. I am assuming that this is what is causing the cluster not to work.
for jdmsource helping out and having A+ service. Told me that just bring it in and he'll give me a new one.
