Default Starter Help, Theives broke into my car and broke my starter

I have a 88 crx si with a b16 I woke up this morning somone tried to steal my car they made it 20 feet away the fuel pump switch was turned off, and my hood was popped. Nothing was stolen at least I havent notice I had to catch the bus to campus, so i was in a hurry. They ripped the ignition off the steering colum, and they took it apart where they used a screw driver to turn the ignition. I have to go to work when i get out of class so I'am posting this without messing around with the starter to try and get it started. Has this happened to anyone? I need a temporary fix when i get home so i can get my car started, if anyone has any advice it would be appreciated. FYI the rod thing that goes into the sterring colum from the starter is snapped. I only messed around with it for 2 mins but i tried to turn it on with the screw driver but there was no power so im ginog to check the fuses then mess aronud with it =\

A friend of mine had his car broken into and they attempted to steal it.

If you pull the back side off the ignition switch (the part where the wires are coming out of) you should be able to turn it and it should work just like your ignition switch, after all thats what it is. You're just bypassing the tumbler for the key.

This should get you going until you can get it fixed. Make sure you have all your paper work for the car with you. Doesn't look good if you get pulled over.

yeah that is how they got it started they pulled the back off the ignition and the just turned it with a screw driver. When i was meesing around with it this morning i tried to start it like that but there nothing happened, no power at all could it be because of the rod that is snapped that connects through the sterring colum and the ignition

Those idiots probably let it touch a ground. Check your 50amp fusable link under the hood. Its held in by 2 screws. I already posted a fix about this....let me find the link
