Default F20B swap

Anyone have this swap done? I was thinking about swapping it into my 96 EK but I haven't found much info on this swap, I searched and it turned back few results none which gave me decent info. My B16 blew because the guy who owned the car before me didn't take great care of the car. Would I just be better off going with a GSR motor instead? I know after everything is all said and done it would be the same cost as the GSR with the motor mounts, f-b trand plate etc.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

from what i hear, its pretty much the exact same as an h22 swap. i remember reading somewhere though that you have to use the top half of an h22 manifol because of something with the secondary butterflies. not sure what ecu to use though because f20b is obd2. i'm assuming you've converted to obd1?

if you can spare it, get the gsr. if not. i've always admired the d16z6 for a hatch.. as well as the obd2 LS motor for an ek ..

mmmm. hatches

F/H series swaps are harder into a EK/EJ chassis. You have a rod style shift linkage while the f/h series have a cable linkage. You have to do some modification to do this swap. But it would be worth it, but will require cutting welding and more custom fabbing.

Its deff. something to consider.

Yes it's obd1.

I was thinking about going ls/vtec but I don't have the time to build it right now, I'm thinking about getting a eg and doing an ls/vtec on that. But I'm thinking about getting the gsr from hmotor online, since they still have their "holiday special". But thanks for everyone's inputs on the matter.

with the introduction of the adapter plates for both B and D series trannies onto the F/H series blocks the swap has been made much easier. Check out the Hybrid forum for more info on those.

I was going to use a D series adapter plate on my F22B1 and put that into a 92-95 hatch. But plans changed and I never did it. But there are people using those adapter plates.
