92-95 civic TYC headlight E46 projector Retro-fit tutorial
Alright here's a little tutorial for all that wants to retro-fit, enjoy!
Pre-heat the oven at 350 and turned it off and put the lights in the oven for about 10 mins. These TYC housing seems to use a differnt kind of glue unlike the OEM ones so they were a Bi*** to pry apart. Took about 1 hour per headlight grr.

The TYC projector on the right and the E46 on the left.
I also reused the bezel from the tyc and jb welded it to the e46. Perfect fit.

I then cut the stock bowl thinking i can JBweld it to the E46 but it doesn't seem like it would work.

Here's a transparent view of what i'm talking about.

Soo i decided i'd do the JnC bracket method but added somthing differnt behind the L bracket so i would be able to adjust the pitch when it's bolted on. With this method i would be able to have movement when moving up and down.

And i took a balljoint piece from the TYC and mounted it on the E46 so it would be able to pitch correctly.

Next up measure where the holes are supose to be then drill some holes

Lines up pretty good

Got my D2S connector and spiced it in

Now for the before and after shots.
Before, H1 plug and play

After E46 singles

It's actually OEM BMW projectors and i had a Philipps kit that fit differnt bulbs.
I just spliced the D2S bulb holder into the ballast wire and bought Philipps 4100k D2S bulbs from hid planet.

You can get the OEM projectors from HIDplanet.com
or locally if you find a set of tsx headlights.
then you swap the tsx projectors in.

Yes sorry i mean you can get the e46, porsche, or RS6 projectors from hid planet ....
and TSX you have to find on e-bay or locally.
I only know 1 other person around my area that can do a retrofit.

It's possible, poey, there is enough room for the extra solnoid in the aftermarket projector housing. But with a stock housing type housing your gonna have to cut the bottom of the reflector for the solnoid as it's a tight fit. Nothiing is impossible.
Great work! Can't wait to see the TSX! The TSX should have a much sharper cutoff vs the e46 projectors IMO. I'm using them right now on my Denji projectors and they came out great.
Wow digging up the old posts =D
