Default Questions: tranny and brakes

I Searched and didn't find anything that helped.

Question 1
I took my 92 DA out to the streets of willow on the 10th.
I got in 4 laps and the rear motor/tranny mount bolt came out,
and the tab that holds the speed sensor in snapped.
It feels like there is some binding in 1st and 2nd gear if I use more than 1/8 throttle.
What I don't know is if it was the stress from the rear mount bolt not being there,
Or if something went out in the tranny that pushed the speed sensor out of the tranny.
(The tranny has 220,000 miles on it)
Should I just get a new speed sensor, Or put the S-1 I have at home in and rebuild the YS-1?
If a rebuild is a must I need to know where I can get barrings and syncrose.

Question 2
As long as I have had my car (4 years).
If I hit the brakes between 90 and 115mph the car shakes badly.
Jump them at 135 and its smooth as glass, till 115.
I have had 3 sets of front rotors on the car(1 stock and 2 drilled). No change.
1 set of stock pads and 2 sets of HPS pads.
Stock pads and rotors and pads in the back,
and drilled rotors and HPS pads in the back.
And its always the same, Shakes from 115-90mph.
I searched "brake shutter" and "brake shake".
I found some that sounded like the same thing,
But they all said that it only happened under 30 or under 50 mph.

You could search for the correct spelling of "shudder"

I don't have much to offer on the transmission issue, but for the brakes, sounds like you haven't replaced anything other than pads and rotors. Consider calipers, wheel bearings, ball joints, etc.

I'm guessing you haven't bedded your brakes properly, and you are encountering shudder due to uneven brake pad deposits on the surface of the rotors.

Here, read these:

The upper ball joints have only been on the car for about 15k,
And the lower for about 25k.
Wheel bearings are on the to do list, And calipers are now on the list as well.
For a caliper rebuild would you suggest factory parts or something else?

Hawk said:
After installing new pads make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 35 mph with moderate pressure. Make an additional two to three hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph. Do not allow the vehicle to come to a complete stop. When completed with this process, park the vehicle and allow the brakes to cool completely before driving on them again. Do not engage the parking brake until after this cooling process is compete.

So that is what I did.

Thanks for the links, I am reading them now.

bolt falling out and braking tab on vss-same thing happend to me. i couldnt tell you why it fell out but that is your binding issue. i was getting wierd clunks comming off the clutch (still went 1:26 at summit like that) and i didnt find it till i pulled the trans to change a clutch i already knew had previous issues earlier in the year.
recommendation-check all your hardware on your car when your taking it to the track. stuff falls off and /or gets loose. i've had EVERY bolt in the front of the car get loose.

Just two more things.

For a caliper rebuild would you suggest factory parts or something else?

Where can I get the parts needed to rebuild a YS1?
