165k honda del sol..about to break down??
if i was to buy a del sol with about 165k and i smash on it. like drive really fast but without redlining...will that make the engine break down anytime soon?
Oh my...do i i have to tackle this one?
Alright idk if you know or not but there are alot of factors that will come into play if your motor can make it to 165k, with Hondas usually onl a few come into play. I dont know if you've personally seen a Honda with 200k+ on it bu i have 2 friends who are Boosting there honda motors with 200+k.
And also unless its a Del Sol Vtec, your not going to be going super fast anyways

All in all you should be perfectly fine

Got a 93 Del Sol (d16z6). I had to do a head gasket, @ around 250k, and that was because I drove it with a stuck thermostat, so if I'd have changed that earlier, I may not have had to do that.
Now at 277k, it looks like it will need a lower end rebuild, but it still runs great, and gets adv 30mpg, and up to 33mpg on good weeks. It just needs oil once a week or so.
I still put 350-500mi a week on it too, and its been a great lil car!
