Default check engine light!!!!!!!

my check engine light is flashing... need help!!!! I just got done racing a del sol and after.... my check engine light keeps flashing and car is lagging a bit. whats wrong????

I hope this racing wasn't on the street. If so, it serves you right.

I think that flashing is an indication of misfiring. You are also probably throwing a code.

Start searching and reading. This might be a good place to start.

You are correct. A flashing CEL does indicate a misfire code.
OP better off getting your car scanned by an OBDII code reader instead of the paperclip trick.

Step one would be to find out why is it misfiring. The search feature should help you with that. As well as the various repair manuals available for sale. If all else fails just go see a mechanic.

take it to auto zone they will tell u exactly what the code is.. then come back to this thread.

Exactly, Jumping the CEL yourself is just go get Misfire for what cylinder is misfiring.
You could try changing the plugs/wires (NGK plugs) and see if that makes any difference.

Youre timing could even be off.
But with that type of CODE youll need more of a answer from a OBDII scanner.
Thats just the OBDII way.
