I have a Em1 with i/h/e and I can smell gas on the drivers side of the engine bay and through my vents. This just started about 2 days ago. The only thing that has changed really is that I let my gas gauge get down to E which I never do and also it has been the coldest out since I have bought my car. Isnt there a fuel return line on the drivers side? I know there is on a CRX but Im not sure on an EM1. Any ideas?

start the car and open the hood,observe if there is any gas leak from fueo filter, injectors,fuel rail.regulator area. if all the seal and o rings are good

 

Yes, look at the fuel rail and the injectors as it's running. Peek around the back of it as the injector O-rings can and will spring a leak at colder temps. Follow the smell and if you have one, keep a fire extinguisher handy.

 

I always have a fire extinguisher. I actually replace an injector about a month ago but this is the first time I have smelt gas. So I know what you guys are talking about with the injector orings and all. I will give them a look and maybe even order some news ones for the hell of it. When I did do the injector though I took out all of the orings and cleaned them and their seats on the head and fuel rail and made sure everything was good so If anything the cold probably just made one of them leak or something. I will give it a look and report back.

 

Looks like #3 injector o ring is leaking. I'm going to order 4 new ones.
