Default Tranny fluid

I was told somewhere that regular engine oil can be used. is this true or do you need need tranny fluid for things to work correctly.

regular motor oil will work but use the hmtf it has a syncromesh fluid and is better for your transmission it and it really isn't that much more money.

you grow a pair.....jk use your 3/8 inch drive breaker bar or remove the transmisson if it is really seized up and stand on wrench breaker bar whatever

I got mine off with my socket wrench (no socket attached), just stick the business end into square hole in the drain bolt. I then used a long piece of metal pipe to give me more leverage to break it free. Go to the Honda dealer and buy 3 quarts of Honda MTF. I've used 10w30 in the past also and it seemed to do fine.

3/8" rachet to remove drain bolt. Older Honda transmission call for an SF/SG grade 10W-30 engine oil, states that in the owners manual. You can use either, it doesn't really matter.
