what kind of motor is this?
bought this motor from nippon motors, its claimed to replace the d16z6 motor, the block says d15b but no numbers. so im wondering if its a jdm d15b but i cant find any info on it...

ya im def its jdm but i wasnt sure, the motor i got had a weird intake mani that was missing spots for sensors... but that kinda clears things up and why i couldnt find any info untill i searched for JDM d15b

Looks to me as the JDM D15b (OBD1) from a EG4/8 in Japan. The D15b from the EK3 (OBD2) would have two vtec solenoid's.

yup D15b VTEC, its basilcy a D15Z1 block (VX block) with a D16Z6 head (Si/EX mtoor)
and with Z6 Rods/pistons and a diffrent crankshaft, but yea about the same HP as a Z6 but a lil less torque, but is faster becuase of better Rod to Stroke Ratio

Jdm d15b usdm equivalent of d16z6 .1 liter smaller has more hp and a more aggressive camshaft. The intake manifold is missing the mount for the evap purge solenoid and the vacuum nipple for the evap purge solenoid. Both easy fixes relocation and a "T" tap.
