why spend as much money on a new SI when your gonna be able to buy a 09 mitsu ralliart for the same price with 235 hp, turbo and all wheel drive makes no sense to me, but then again your all honda lovers so your gonna back your cars up, even if this is a WAY better price for around the same price range so I understand
Funny. The '09 Lancer GTS weighs 3150 lbs. Wonder how much the Ralliart heap is gonna weigh with that AWD system. Not to mention, it's expected to be priced around $25K.
I'll keep my Si.

I think the upcoming Lancer Ralliart looks cool, but as Rico pointed out, it isn't going to be "Si money", it will be $25k - which, if you do the math, is about 20% more expensive than an Si. Also, from the most recent info I have, the Ralliart will be auto only (ya, it will be some kind of a DSG tranny, but still, 2 pedals is 2 pedals).
If the car costs $20,200 like I paid for my car, then I'll sell mine and buy it. Ok?
Freakin dousche - that car will prolly be 5k+ more at the least. Not only that, but Mitsu's suck in general. All that maintenance? No ty. I'll enjoy my nice ride with which I'll resell later on for a fair value instead of losing 60+% of its value

Oh, Sorry. Next time I think about buying a car, i'll travel to the future and make sure something better doesn't come out a year after I buy my car when there were only minor rumors concerning the development of a new Ralliart. Thanks. Oh, and in the meantime, I can waste money paying on a car and watch it devalue like crazy, or just not have a car to go to school or work.
The last Ralliart was a mediocre car, and there's nothing other than specifications that would indication the the new one won't be the same. If I wanted a stripped down EVO, I would buy one and strip it for parts.
By the way, how IS the new Ralliart? apparently you've already driven one to determine that its better than the Si. While you're in the future, please, tell me what next month's lotto numbers are.

and cross your fingers that the clutch will last more than 3 months... and then you better be wishin on a star to hope that your "warranty" will cover it.

I test drove the new lancer and its a great car. It wasn't a raliart, but the improvement over the last gen is huge. I don't like CVTs, but it was pretty smooth. I wouldn't buy a base model over an Si, but I haven't test driven a raliart yet, and its definitely gonna be expensive.
I'll be the first to admit the new ralliart looks awesome. Unfortunately, this is a retarded thread because the car isn't even out yet while the SI has been out since '05.. so I fail to see WTF the point of this thread is.

I have had a few friends who have had mitsubishis in the past, and personally i would rather stick with a car that wont fall apart on me, and wont rust on me within the first few years. I know Honda had their "cancer years" but at least they have overcame this problem. mitsubishi lovers=GTFOOH! this isnt mitsubishi-tech... hmmm.
Why do people compare turbo charged stock cars to NA stock cars.
Put a turbo in a si and see who owns who!
The only reason why any of these cars have more hp is cause they're superchared/turbo.
Why don't the other owners of these cars see that?

the same reason why someone would buy a lancer over an si.
they are idiots. they dont know anything, and its apparent, they have a crappy taste in cars. anyone with a brain knows that a honda lasts 2 times longer than most cars, thats why us smart people buy them.

i actually held a newer porsche boxer on the highway to about 130 mph. so i can agree with that...
and as for the guy who made this post...(i didnt even bother to read what every one else wrote)...but what a dick...and get a life

The only logical reason to choose a lancer over the Civic would be lower purchase price and styling, if the styling appeals to you that is.

Well, I am amazed at the vehicles me and my brother can pull on or hang with on the freeway. S2000's, Infiniti G35, Nissan 350Z, Charger R/T's, typical high 13 low 14 sec cars. My brother who is 10 years younger asks why and I say power to weight and the elimination of the advantage a RWD vehicle has over FWD.
