Default Will this tire size be alright for my car?

I drive a 95 Civic, and the best fitting tire size for a 15" rim on the Civic would be the 195/50-15. I love how wider tires grip, and I'm hoping to get tires sized 205/50-15. Would the 205s be able to fit without being too risky? Right now I'm riding on Fat Fives and plan on switching to MB Weapons in the near future.

Thanks.

Get the correct size for your car. If you need more traction, get a stickier tire.

I understand that. But what I'm trying to find out is if 205s will work when 195 is the suggested size.

They will throw off your gauges and make your car accelerate slower. Stick with 195/50-15.

Wider tires don't make that big a difference. Stickier tires do. Supersticky tires available in 195/50-15 include the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 and Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R.

i guess we will agree to disagree nsxtasy, haha, im with your tunernoob, a sticky tire won't grip as much as a wider sticky tire and just sticky your gauges on the correct speed..........to each his own...........

You really don't know what you're talking about. Width doesn't make any significant difference in a tire used on the street. Period. People used to believe that the world was flat, too - that didn't make it so.

And tunernoob agreed with me, not with you.

You're welcome to believe whatever wrong information you want, but please don't post it on the forums.
