why would u wanna get type r cams when they are identical to the ones u have in the z1... and if so, i hope u know u cannot just swap cams and pistons and hope for it to net u the most gains just out the box without any sort of tuning.. and i'm sure u dont have to run higher than 91... 87 will be perfect LOL jk

1. Before you buy anymore DC5R parts, I want to tell you what the '05 RSX Type-S was already equipped with. It received DC5R camshafts, b-pipe and muffler from the exhaust, 4.77 final drive ratio, crankshaft pulley, and the intake snorkel duct.

2. It is possible to do that, but I think you'll barely notice any power gains whatsoever.

3. There is no need to use higher octane. You'll run fine with 91+.

It will make a big difference, but you would have to do more than that to get it to run properly.

Search for more information. It's been covered so many times before.

yeah, i'd go for intake first... suspension 2nd... 3rd, possibly a decent header with esmm... and 4th, some better tires... u dont wanna go fast and lose control with those stock michellin tires... and last but not least, kpro... i had an intake header kpro setup on my 06 and i loved it... til i sold the kpro and missed it even more for a week.. then i got over it LOL

Buy an exhaust and ditch the straight pipe. Oh, and it's header, not headers.

The next mod should be punctuation.

enoker001,

I suggest you get an RBC Intake manifold, 70mm BDL throttle body, a nice set of IPS cams with spings and retainers, a full exhaust system, a good high flow air induction system, and a good tune with Kpro.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Pat_S &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> 3. There is no need to use higher octane. You'll run fine with 91+.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I really wish you would speak to an aquaintence of mine. He seems to think that the 100 octane fuel he is using is advancing his timing and he is gaining so much more power.

I don't think the 2005 type s has a k20z1, that is the engine in the new SI isn't it? I'm sure it makes a dif. becuase they changed a few things and I know for a fact that kpro won't work on the new si engine, which I believe is the z1. Also I don't think I would put a k24 head on your k20. The k20 is more aggressive and is designed for the higher redline on the type s.

You should look into getting a new set of mounts to help with wheel-hop and spin, I recomend the innovative motors mounts. Kpro is the best upgrade, even with some of the maps hondata preloads you will see an amazing difference in performance.

Wrong.

They did change a few things such as DC5R camshafts, b-pipe and muffler from the exhaust, 4.77 final drive ratio, crankshaft pulley, and the intake snorkel duct which I've stated, but I highly doubt there would be a huge difference whatsoever.

K-Pro will work on the '05-'06 RSX Type-S's k20z1. Please, do your homework.

the new si's is/are k20z3, variants of the k20z1. Also, you actually lose redline down to 7k (i believe) with the k24 frankenstein hybrid as oppossed to the 8.5+k with k20a2/z1.

closer to a 2.0 version of the K24A2 actually. SCC magazine even says so in one of their articles on the new civic.

sorry about that, I never really looked into the engine differences between 002-04 and 05+ becuase I have an 02. I thought they introduced the k20z with the new si.

I know kpro works with 05/06 type s but I also know that it doesn't work with new civic si's.

Yes Kpro is available for 05-06 RSX-S, a conversion harness is required and a 2002-2004 ECU. Kpro can be used on the 2006-2008 Civic Si but you have to convert the drive by wire to conventional throttle and rewire the car to eliminate MAF. The problem with this set up is that dash function is lost and one has to go with custom gaging. Some have speculated that the Si uses dash signals similar to the S2000, if this is the case one can use the various converters that are floating around for people going with S2000 clusters in their vehicles. HASport swapped a K20Z3 into a fit and they kept the DBW and to my knowledge the MAF too. They used KPro for the engine and the FIT ecu for A/C and dash function.
