So why do you want a dogbox transmission?

Houseman converts Honda boxes to dogbox.

Quaife makes a real dog box. 19k-22k depending on which Quaife you get.

ARe you road racing the car competitively? Drag racing it competitively? Breaking current parts? Have a ton of cash to waste if you answered no to those questions....then yes get it.

Do you plan to daily drive it?? If so I would not recommend it. A dog box requires maintanence for one...Second, they can be a little tricky to drive...kinda hard to explain(you gotta experience it! LOL) ...you just gotta be sure its in gear and it seems harder when your not WOT!!!

So what are you doing to the engine to necessitate such a transmission?

to be honest with you rice a dog box trans is not going to suit your application a professional refresh of new bearings and seals and such is all you're going to need in my honest opinion...a dog box is strictly a drag racing set-up and if youre not making 800whp+ this thread has peaked its usefulness...

Dog engagement is used for road racing, not just drag.

there is already a recall on the new si's. Somthing about 3rd gear poping out? So i have herd. I think i will go on the stock trans until i have a problem then i will look into some other options. if u think the stock trans will do well under alot of abuse.

oh ****, an 08SI forget about it, i dont think anybody makes a dogbox for that thing... unless someone made it for the RSX and it fits... still thats WAY overkill and stuipid imo to roadrace a brand new car, why not just buy a 88-00 civic and fix that up instead?
